As Vice President of Development, Mr. Bertao is responsible for sourcing and executing new development opportunities across ConAm's national footprint. His responsibilities include site selection and acquisition, feasibility analysis and due diligence, entitlements and securing permits, design and construction coordination, and management of all construction activities. During his career, he has been involved in the development of multifamily units in Washington, Oregon, and California.
Prior to joining ConAm, Mr. Bertao worked at Shea Properties where he was involved in the acquisition and development of various mixed-use and multifamily projects in Seattle, Northern California, and Southern California. With a unique background as both a developer and an architect, he understands the need for well thought out design while balancing the economics that make development feasible.
Mr. Bertao holds a Master of Real Estate Development degree from the University of Southern California and a Bachelor of Architecture degree from the University of Notre Dame. He is a licensed California architect and an active member of the BIA and ULI San Diego chapters.
