Central Southeast
Meet our Regional Team
Though a network of regional offices, ConAm’s Central/Southeast division oversees the management of more than 33 apartment communities (approx.7,500 units) located in Dallas, Houston, and Corpus Christi, Texas; Topeka, Kansas; Albuquerque, New Mexico; North Carolina, South Carolina and Georgia, as well as throughout the Orlando and Jacksonville, Florida metro areas. The portfolio includes both conventional and tax credit communities.
Each of our regional office teams has a keen knowledge of the constantly changing dynamics of their unique submarket area. They are also very active in their respective communities through involvement and leadership positions in professional organizations, in addition to maintaining strong relationships with local governmental agencies.
All team members consistently strive to improve their skills through continuing education in specialized courses for real estate management, marketing and maintenance professionals.
Regional Team
James R. Kent
Senior Regional Vice President
Mr. Kent joined ConAm in 1980 as a Regional Property Manager and progressively took on larger portfolios in California, Nevada and Arizona.
In 1986 he established our Dallas office and has been involved in the management of properties throughout Texas, Ohio, Oklahoma, Kansas, Missouri, New Mexico, Florida and North Carolina.
Prior to joining ConAm, Mr. Kent was with the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development and was responsible for 100 federally insured apartment projects in California and Nevada.
Mr. Kent earned a bachelor's degree in economics from the University of California at Los Angeles, and a master's degree in business administration from Golden Gate University.
Pamela Cooper Montgomery
Director of Marketing and Education
Ms. Cooper’s responsibilities include hiring new leasing associates, developing and implementing marketing campaigns, reviewing rental rates and analysis of staff performance.
She is also in charge of training on-site leasing staff and providing overall guidance for regional marketing and leasing efforts.
Ms. Cooper joined ConAm in 1996 following ConAm’s acquisition of the assets of Bryanston Management Group. After beginning her career with Lincoln Property Company as the leasing director, she later worked for GSC Management Group as the national leasing director personally responsible for developing a national marketing and training program for apartment communities in 22 states. She also worked for Trammell Crow as the Training Director in the south Florida region.
Ms. Cooper graduated from Louisiana State University having earned a bachelor of arts in sociology.
Daniel M. Brennan
Regional Portfolio Manager
Mr. Brennan’s currently supervises the management of 10 communities (approx. 2,200 units) in the Dallas/Fortworth metro area.
His general responsibilities include the supervision of on-site employees, development and implementation of annual budgets, as well as overseeing daily operational functions at his assigned communities.
Mr. Brennan has been a member of the ConAm team since 1999. Prior to joining ConAm, Mr. Brennan worked with the Asset Group, Inc., throughout Texas, Louisiana and Arizona for seven years. His experience includes property management, property renovation and reconstruction, as well as due diligence reporting.
Lanie Van Dyke
Regional Portfolio Manager
Ms. Van Dyke oversees an eight-property portfolio consisting of approximately 1,450 apartment units in the Houston and Corpus Christi areas.
Ms. Van Dyke has more than 20 years of property management experience. Prior to joining ConAm in 2005, Ms. Van Dyke supervised a portfolio in excess of 80 properties totaling 26,000 units. She has managed real estate in Houston, Dallas, Waco, Corpus Christi, Temple, Amarillo, Chicago and Denver. She also has extensive experience in new construction, renovation, tax credit, mid-rise, and garden-style apartment communities.
Jeanne Heuer
Area Manager
Ms. Heuer joined ConAm in 1995 as an assistant community manager and after a few years was promoted to the position of community manager.
During her tenure at ConAm Ms. Heuer earned a reputation as troubleshooter, with a strong focus on eliminating rent delinquencies, generally managing to operate her properties with a less then 1% delinquency factor. In 1996 she was named “Manager of the Year” for the Dallas region and in January of 2006, she was nominated for ConAm’s nationwide Community Manager of the Year award.
Ms. Heuer was promoted to her current position as area manager, in 2007.
Yvonne Turner
Sr. Regional Systems Coordinator
Ms. Turner joined ConAm in May 1996. Previously, she was with Bryanston Management Company, Pacific Realty, and GCS Management Corporation as an accounting supervisor.
Ms. Turner brings more than 20 years of property management accounting and audit experience to the management team. She is currently responsible for the on-site software training, technical support and property site audits.
Ms. Turner received her low income housing tax credit certification through The Housing Credit College.
Janice Cernosek
Regional Systems Coordinator
Ms. Cernosek is responsible for training, auditing and system support for ConAm associates and apartment properties located throughout Texas and South Florida.
Ms. Cernosek started her career in the apartment industry in the late 1970’s in the accounting field. Over the years Ms. Cernosek’s experience has included on-site management, bookkeeping, banking, financial services, auditing, and training
Ms. Cernosek joined ConAm as the regional systems coordinator in 2001. Previously, she was the director of information systems at AIMCO, responsible for more than 12,000 apartment units in Texas.
In 2001, she obtained the national compliance professional-executive (NCP-E) designation. In addition, Ms. Cernosek holds a compliance occupancy specialist designation and has experience with HUD, bond and tax credit programs.
Tony Meza
Regional Maintenance Coordinator
Mr. Meza joined ConAm Management in 2000 after a four-year tenure at AIMCO as the regional maintenance coordinator for approximately 12,000 units in their Houston region.
Mr. Meza began his career in the apartment industry with Harry Reed & Company in 1983. He holds a Texas state electrical license, a state contractor’s and asbestos license, City of Houston boiler license, an HVAC license, and has extensive hands-on experience with appliances and plumbing systems.
Susan Dranquet
Regional Portfolio Manager
Ms. Dranguet’s current responsibilities include overseeing the operation of several apartment communities in Fort Worth, Arlington, Waco and Lewisville, Texas..
Ms. Dranguet’s has more than 20 years of experience in the multifamily housing industry, with expertise in new construction, property renovation, due diligence and marketing and has he has managed properties in Dallas, Fort Worth, Houston and Phoenix.
Prior to joining ConAm, in 2007, Ms. Dranguet owned and operated her own real estate firm in Southern Pines, North Carolina for 10 years, specializing in residential construction and development.
Ms. Dranguet is licensed as a North Carolina real estate broker, and holds a Texas real estate sales license.
Sherry Naydeck
Regional Portfolio Manager
Ms. Naydeck oversees the management of six apartment communities (approx. 1,700 units) located in Central and Northeast Florida, Georgia and North Carolina.
Her duties include interfacing with on-site personnel, residents and owners with regard to owner relationships, staffing, property performance and operating standards.
Ms. Naydeck has more than 25 years of property management experience including extensive knowledge of new construction, renovation and lease up communities.
Previously, she was the regional property manager for Greystar Management (Southeast Region), in charge of more than 3,000 units in the Jacksonville, Gainesville and Orlando submarkets. She has managed multifamily real estate in Arizona, Hawaii and Southern California.
Ms. Naydeck is active in the National Apartment Association, Florida Apartment Association and has been a member of the Board of Directors and an NALP and CAM instructor for the First Coast Apartment Association. She also holds a Real Estate sales license in Florida.
Jimmy Hummel
Regional Maintenance Director
Mr. Hummel joined ConAm in 2008 and has over 22 years experience in all phases of apartment maintenance and construction.
He currently oversees the capital improvement projects and training of on-site maintenance service teams, as well as is responsible for implementing the regions Preventative Maintenance Programs.
